Cashmere is a noble and delicate material that thrives with water. A cashmere sweater should be washed regularly, after being worn two or three times. Machine washing is suitable for cashmere sweaters. Always use a wool program and do not exceed 500 spins per minute for the spin cycle. Contrary to what one might think, cashmere does not tolerate fabric softener. Hand washing is also an alternative, following the same guidelines as for machine washing: gently knead the sweater for a few minutes without twisting it. A cashmere sweater should always be laid flat to dry to maintain its original shape. If the knit shows slight creases, it can be ironed with a low-heat iron, without stretching the fabric.
